For the first half of this book I was a bit confused - too many unrelated characters and too many timeline jumps. About halfway through however the book kind of settles down, even though no single character emerges as the hero and the cast of characters do end up getting together. There are some great twists and turns, some surprising character actions, and some repetition of how useless the government is in a crisis. Overall the characters make this worth reading. Ms. Bird definitely has a talent for developing people that the reader can invest in and wants to explore.If you like this genre, and don't want to read another Zombie novel, you should give this one a try. It's good enough that I kind of hope there will be a sequel.

I wanted to read this book because it portrays a realistic scenario! We've had outbreaks of different things before worldwide and this book brought forth a story that could ultimately be our reality!
Some spelling and grammar errors, but overall a very enjoyable read. I look forward to future books from this author.
Good story, medically possible. Didn't spend a lot of time on chaos of plague but used it to develop groups of actors in saga. Will definitely read next release.
This is an exceptional read! The characters and story keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. I devoured the book and am anxiously awaiting the sequel!
This book has a good, fast-paced plot with some twists and turns. Beats average for genre. Some grammar errors, though.
Characters are believable and it captures some of the scope of a true pandemic. Viruses don't recognize good or bad, not have a sense of fairness. Keeps the suspense up. As a plus this could have a sequel but it isn't one of those annoying cliffhangers where you discover you paid full price for half a story. Ill buy the next one.
DON'T make any plans, have a to-do list, or start this book unless you have all day because you CANNOT put this down! The author did a remarkable job of introducing all these characters who are good and evil. Then each group of people's stories leap frog over each other into chapter after chapter. You can't put this down because you are just dying to know what happens next!! I really hope their is a sequel. I am invested in the personalities and survival situations and want it to continue. To me that is a real skill...to capture your readers and long after the novel ends, your readers want more! I highly recommend this novel and for those who it matters to, their are no zombies!!
